Visita fugaz en Düsseldorf

Altstadt - Burgplatz

At the end of November I had a little adventure, I recived a call from an Au pair family from Marl, close to Düsseldorf in Germany, I went there two days after that phone call, that was so crazy, my mother was mad about that but I didn't care . I just wanted to start a new life, learn a new language, meet that two wonderful kids. I did it, I met them but things didn't go well, I was happy there, but they needed someone with driven licence and good german language skills, or at least that what they said to me. But it's ok, at the next day I had to take the plane back home to Madrid, Spain, but....I did a little tour in Düsseldorf, I left my bagage at the airport (it's really cheap, 5 e/per all day) and I had fun with the german cold weather and its christmas spirit that I love so much.

I went to Düssedorf Hbf, without a plan, but I found St. Mariä Empfängnis church, neogothic architecture disgned by Ludwig Becker in 1864. But I wanted to go to the old part, called Altstadt, so I asked to two german men, and wow it was surprising how nice and friendly the german people are, one of them offered me to take me there by car so I accepted. And there I was!!! so pretty!!

A side view of Burgplazt and close to the river Rhine, we can see two buldings, Schiffahrtsmuseum (Maritime Museum, that old tower was a part of the castle of Count Berg) and St. Lambertus church.

And taking a look to the other side I could see the Tower of Rhine, speed look to Düsselderof just turning around myself. A few minutes from there....the Marktplatz, with the Rathaus and the satatue of Jan Wellem in the center buuut the cutest thing was the christmas market and the christmas tree!!! and then started to snow a little biiit ooooh!  I was in love.

At this point I was saying goodbye to that cute place....and I have to add that mostly of german boys were so cute (L).

And lovely shops..

I was and am dying of loooove of all that christams stuff and christmas spirit. Walking a bit lost I found the Alter Hafen, weird place with a boat in the middle, okei I have to say that I am scared of boats and everything like that, and mostly if it's old.....or under water, I feel horror inside so the experience was weird maybe for others...it's stupid....hahahaha
Let's go to see more....not far from there....Heinrich-Heine-Platz

And after all....I had to go back to Düsseldrof Flughafen and go back to Madrid, saying goodbye to that lovely and short stay, I hope to return soon there or to other place in Germany :)
